Three students studying tourism at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Geography, Serbia, participated in a three-week exchange mobility at the Faculty of European Studies and Regional Development of the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra under the CEEPUS programme.
The programme commenced with an expert seminar combined with a guided tour of the city of Nitra, focusing on its tourism potential. As part of this activity, the students visited Nitra Castle, one of the most prominent historical landmarks of the city. During the mobility, the participants – Ognjen Opačić, Sara Tašić, and Vanja Nenadović – also undertook study visits to Bratislava and Trnava, where they explored key cultural and historical heritage sites.
A significant component of the programme was a visit to the Nitra Tourism Organization, where the students attended a professional presentation on the city’s tourism offer and its strategic development in the field of tourism. Under the supervision of Professor Eleonóra Marišová, the participants also visited the Podzoborie Museum in Dolné Obdokovce, gaining deeper insight into regional history and traditional culture. As Professor Marišová noted, the students also took part in courses focused on global environmentalism and the evaluation of environmental aspects of regional development.
The participants emphasized that the programme provided a valuable opportunity to expand their academic knowledge while gaining first-hand experience of Slovak culture and traditions. They highlighted that the combination of lectures, fieldwork, and excursions contributed to a comprehensive and practice-oriented educational experience, particularly in the area of sustainable development of agriculture and regions.
The mobility was carried out within the CEEPUS network “Tourism and Agriculture Sustainable Alliances – #TASA network” (SI-1817-04-2627).
