SUA became a member of the alliance that connects China with the countries of Central and Eastern Europe
30.10.2024From October 15 to 17, 2024, an agricultural conference hosted by Shandong Agricultural University was held in Yantai, China. The event also included the first meeting of the Alliance for Modern Agricultural Science, Education and Innovation.
Vice-Rector for Education Professor Milan Šimko, Director of the Agrobiotech Research Center Professor Adriana Kolesárová and Head of the Institute of Plant and Environmental Sciences Professor Marián Brestič attended the conference on behalf of SUA. At the event, representatives of agricultural educational and research institutions from China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe presented their contributions. Within the framework of the conference, group discussions took place on the topics of intelligent agriculture and new qualitative production and food safety, nutrition and health, and agricultural scientific and technological innovations.
The participants analyzed the latest development trends of intelligent agriculture and its impact on the world economy, explained the important role of agricultural scientific and technological innovation in the field of food safety, nutrition and health, as well as potential directions of development and challenges that need to be addressed in the application of digital information technologies in the current the global chain of the food industry.
The event also included the first meeting of the Alliance for Modern Agricultural Science, Education and Innovation between China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. The Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra became one of the members of this alliance. The formation of the alliance was initiated by Shandong Agricultural University. The goal was to create an important international, non-profit and open platform for multilateral cooperation. The alliance will be guided by the principles of open sharing, cultural integration and all-round beneficial cooperation in the field of education, building modern agricultural science and technology, and sustainable agricultural development.
