On July 7, the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences at the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra launched the first edition of the BioTox Summer Science Camp — a week-long international event organized by the Institute of Applied Biology (IAB).
Focused on advancing knowledge in toxicology and biology, the camp combines expert lectures with hands-on laboratory training. It brings together PhD students and young researchers from Hungary, Poland, Serbia, the Czech Republic, Italy, and Slovakia.
The participants were welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Norbert Lukáč, and the Head of the Institute of Applied Biology, Professor Peter Massányi. “I see the BioTox Summer Camp as a new opportunity to foster collaboration within the European academic space, and also as a way to help doctoral students build both professional and friendly ties between universities and among participants,” said Professor Massányi.
In addition to the academic program, participants will visit the National Stud Farm in Topoľčianky and explore future cooperation opportunities at the university's AgroBioTech Research Centre.
The camp is supported by the Central European Exchange Program for University Studies (CEEPUS), through the BioTox network (CEEPUS code: SK – 1913-02-2526), coordinated by the Institute of Applied Biology at FBFS.
