SUA students at the winter school within the INVEST project in Finland
03.03.2025
Six students from the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra are representing our university at the prestigious AI-enabled Early Innovation Winter School organized by Karelia University of Applied Sciences in Joensuu (Finland).
The first days of the winter school will be spent in the Nurmes area north of Joensuu at the Hyvärilä Youth and Holiday Centre. Together with them, two SPU lecturers also travelled, who act as mentors and expert lecturers in international teams consisting of students from other partner universities from Italy, France, Bulgaria and Spain.
During the week-long intensive programme (23-28 February 2025), students will develop their entrepreneurial, research and innovation competences, focusing on the use of artificial intelligence in the process of creating innovative products and services. The programme includes workshops, coaching, team challenges, project presentations and excursions to companies that are key innovators in the North Karelia region. This environment, with its typical winter scenery, provides ideal conditions for creative thinking and international collaboration.
The Winter School is an exceptional opportunity not only for learning but also for building international contacts, developing intercultural skills and teamwork. Students will gain experience in applying AI to solve real-world challenges, assessing customer needs and creating sustainable business models. In addition to academic activities, they will also enjoy a rich cultural programme and leisure activities in the beautiful winter environment of Finland. During the first day, students had the opportunity to get to know the other universities and the environment where they came from during the planned country presentations as well as to bring some typical products from their country, which they presented and tasted during the so-called cultural evening.
This mobility is implemented within the framework of the INVEST project, which is funded by the Erasmus+ programme. Participation in this prestigious winter school is an exceptional opportunity for our students to take their knowledge and skills to a new level, offering them a unique opportunity to become part of the European innovation community and experience learning in an international context.
