The Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra (SUA) will be presenting itself at the Furniture and Living, Gardenia 2025 exhibition at the Agrokomplex exhibition center in Nitra from 23 to 27 April. In Pavilion M3, it will create a joint exhibition together with the Technical University of Zvolen as part of the AgroForestry project.
The exhibition will focus on presenting the broad topic of inclusive exterior and interior design.
The Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra and the Technical University of Zvolen will promote one of the emerging new study programs at the exhibition, which they are currently jointly preparing as part of the AgroForestry project. The study program "inclusive exterior and interior design" will offer a connection of technical, environmental and social aspects of design in a unique interdisciplinary platform. The combination of SUA, which has a strong background in landscape architecture, sustainability and environmental planning, and the Technical University of Zvolen - with an emphasis on furniture, interior, materials and construction design - creates a unique professional background.
The new study program will offer students a comprehensive perspective - from urban and landscape design to architectural and interior design, with an emphasis on inclusion. "The labor market increasingly requires experts capable of designing spaces and products that take into account the various needs of users - from children, seniors, people with disabilities to various cultural and social groups. Graduates of the study program will be prepared to work in teams of urban planners, architects, designers, social innovators or local governments, which increases their applicability and the social impact of their work," explained S. Bellérová.
The concept for the exhibition installation was created at a workshop on this topic, organized by the Creative Center of SUA under the leadership of Soňa Bellérová, a lecturer from the Institute of Landscape Architecture of the Faculty of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering of SUA. Students from the Institute of Landscape Architecture and interior design students from the Private School of Applied Arts in Nitra participated in the creation of the exhibition, who spent several days creating the graphic design and compositional solution of the stand.
Both universities already have experience with the topic of inclusive design within the framework of several international research projects in which they are involved. The exhibition at the Agrokomplex will also display reversible multifunctional elements of outdoor furniture, which are the output of the IN-HABIT project, in which SUA participates.
