FEM in a new project as an EU expert to provide training in the field of trade and marketing
08.03.2023The Faculty of Economics and Management of the SUA in Nitra is participating in a new Erasmus+ KA2 Capacity Building in the Field of Vocational Education and Training (CB VET) project titled “AgroTechnology VET Centres to Network and Train Future Farmers in Jordan and Palestine” (AgroTec), no. 101092160, as an expert from the European Union.
The project aims to establish a network of 5 agro-technological centres in 5 Universities in Jordan and Palestine and develop practical and innovative VET courses. The curricula will be developed and the students will be acquainted with the new developments requiring new skills, not addressed in traditional curricula. The AgroTec centres will promote cooperation between companies and VET institutions as well as create links between all stakeholders of the Agri-Food value chain. These centres will also assist in promoting smart tools for enriching data through IoT sensor networks for soil-crop monitoring, processing, marketing and quality control.
The project consortium consists of 6 universities and 2 commercial partners, coordinated by AgriWatch BV (The Netherlands). The project partners are the University of Jordan (Jordan), National University College of Technology (Jordan), Mutah University (Jordan), Palestine Polytechnic University (Palestine), Palestine Technical University Kadoorie (Palestine), Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra (Slovakia) and Int@E UG (Germany).
From the kick-off meeting
The kick-off meeting was held on 19-20 February 2023 in Amman, Jordan. The FEM SUA in Nitra was represented by the Dean Prof. Elena Horská, the project member Dr. Anna Mravcová, and the local project coordinator Dr. Jana Gálová.
"During the intensive two-day programme at the two partner universities (UJ and NUCT), discussions were held about the project work packages, the division of tasks and the proposed timetable for their completion. SUA as an expert from the EU will provide training in the field of trade and marketing," Jana Gálová explained.
AgroTec builds on previous cooperation with Jordanian partners within the Erasmus+ KA2 CBHE projects Vocational Training Center for Undergraduate University Students and Teachers in Jordan (VTC), No. 561708-EPP-1-2015-1-DE-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP, and Modernising Human Resource Management in South Mediterranean Higher Education (RISE), No. 561810-EPP-1-2015-1-JO-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP.
The duration of the AgroTec project is from 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2025.
