Cooperation between the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra, Faculty of EU studies and Regional Development and the Moncton University in Canada

As part of the international ERASMUS+ program, Inter-Institutional agreement Key Action 1 concluded between EU member states and third countries associated to the Programme under project n.2022-1-SK01-HED-000077841, professor Matthieu LeBlanc, Ph. D.- vice dean of Faculty of Arts and social sciences at Université de Moncton visited our university this summer semester from March 24 to March 28, 2025.
Dean of Faculty of EU studies and Regional Development, prof. Pavol Schwarcz, PhD., welcomed Dr.LeBlanc at the dean's office, and they discussed the further cooperation of both faculties and students exchanges. Dr. LeBlanc gave lectures on the Changing Face of the Canadian Landscape to students studying in English at both the bachelor's and master's levels. The presentation on Canada involved :
- international trade, Canada-US relations, international relations
- political landscape of Canada: federalism in Canada, federal-provincial-territorial relations, political shifts (right/center/left)
- immigration, multiculturalism and social integration
- university study in Canada
- Social justice and equity movements
Students were very interested in the topic of the lecture and had many questions.
Professor Dr. LeBlanc also participated in discussions on potential research and teaching collaboration with faculty members from the Institute of Law. He visited also the Language Centre of SUA prepared for them a special topic : Language Training in Canada: Current Trends .
Institute of Law and Centre for languages agreed in further cooperation in the future, including through selected online lectures.
